Rafael Urbina-Quintero is the Chairman & CEO of VIX. Rafael is responsible for the company’s strategic planning, business, and product development as well as revenue generation. In 1999, Rafael became the chairman & CEO of Batanga Media, which became the largest independent digital media and content company for the U.S. Hispanic market, Latin America, and Brazil. As Chairman and CEO, Rafael successfully led a series of acquisitions and negotiated multiple rounds of funding for Batanga Media, most recently closing an investment and strategic partnership deal with Discovery Communications. In early 2017, Rafael led strategic corporate rebrand of Batanga Media to VIX. Rafael is a University of Miami School of Business MBA graduate.
Chief Financial Officer
Manny Borges serves as VIX’s Chief Financial Officer overseeing all financial operations including accounting, finance, and tax functions, as well as all strategic acquisitions and partnerships. Before the company’s corporate rebrand to VIX, Manny was instrumental in several acquisitions and investment rounds for Batanga Media. Manny has held finance and accounting roles for the publically traded Radio Unica Communications Corporation, and the privately funded Related Group. He was also a manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ Miami office. Manny received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting from Florida International University. He is also a certified public accountant in Florida.
Chief solutions officer
Carlos Luchsinger is the Chief Solutions Officer, responsible for overseeing the company’s advertising solutions, technology, development, and implementation. Key areas include strategy, online product development, and operating efficiencies. Previously, Carlos worked for several interactive marketing companies based in Miami, including IATM and Touch Miami, where he was Vice President of Operations. Carlos holds a System Engineer Degree from Universidad Metropolitana in Caracas, Venezuela.
CHIEF REVENUE OFFICER
Alexandre Jordao is Chief Revenue Officer at VIX, responsible for the company’s global revenue generation, including sales and account management. Previously, Alexandre was Vice President of Sales for Latin America and Brazil at Batanga Media. Alexandre brings more than twenty years of experience to the CRO role, having worked across Latin America for companies such as Microsoft and Grey Group. Alexandre holds an MBA from the Instituto de Empresa in Madrid, Spain.
CHIEF PRODUCT OFFICER
As Chief Product Officer, Santiago Pehar oversees VIX’s content products. Santiago is responsible for all product development and user interfaces, leading a team of developers and data analysists. Santiago is the founder of iMujer.com, and under his direction, it along with BolsadeMulher.com and Batanga.com, became three of the most popular lifestyle and entertainment digital properties in the region. Santiago was the CEO and founder of Crovat, where he developed one of the largest entertainment online networks in Latin America.
Executive VP, Marketing
Natalia Borges is Executive Vice President of Marketing at VIX, where she oversees all global communications strategy, marketing efforts, public relations, and internal communications. Previously, Natalia lead all integrated sales marketing strategies and efforts for Batanga Media. Natalia began her career in the advertising industry spending ten years with industry leaders Crispin Porter + Bogusky (CP+B) and Zubi Advertising. A graduate of Florida International University, Natalia holds a Bachelor Degree in Communications.
VP OF BRANDED CONTENT
Rafael Garcia leads all of the production and development efforts generating original branded content for advertisers and marketers on VIX. Previously, Rafael held various leadership positions during a 10- year tenure with Cisneros Group, expanding digital content distribution with important video partners such as YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, Univision and MSN. Previous to Cisneros, Rafael also held executive positions at AOL, Diario, El Universal, and Quepasa.com. Rafael is a member of the Advisory Board for Entertainment Business programs at Full Sail University.
Executive VP, Creative & Video
Richard Gibson is Executive Vice President of Creative and Video, overseeing the creative direction of VIX, as well as all its original video content. Richard brings vast creative and content creation experience from years as a creative director for Sony Pictures Entertainment, Discovery Communications, and MTV Networks. Richard holds a Bachelor Degree in the Arts from the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
